I’ve got a new season of blog posts starting this year, I’ll be aiming to post a copy-cat/lookalike outfit from a blogger I admire monthly. We see copy-cat/ lookalike outfits from celebrities all the time and may even copy the style of one girl-crush ourselves in our time (my previous style inspiration was Blake Lively) but aren’t Bloggers and Influencers just as big as celebrities these days? So, I thought I’d pay homage to some of my favourite fashion bloggers and copy-cat an outfit of theirs a month. This month I kick off with the one and only Megan Ellaby, a fashion “icon” in my eyes, reading her blogs since she started back in ASOS to then moving onto vlogs I am still hooked on her content and admire her brave sense of style.
Megan Ellaby’s style is one that “small town folk” would cringe and poke fun at, but she’s damn cool and brave as heck. With her perfectly messy brown locks and neutral makeup, her brightly coloured outfits do the talking. Another staple thing I will always associate with Megan is her sock wearing addiction, whether its sandals, heels or boots Megan will be wearing a pair of eye-catching socks. I’m for-sure, sure she started this trend off in 2017.
The outfit I chose to copy-cat is her denim on denim look in this Instagram post from December the 1st.
Eurgh isn’t she just downright gorgeous and cool?!
I’ve chosen to copy-cat this outfit with my only pair of blue MOM jeans from Zara and it was a tough decision which denim jacket to opt for, but I chose my cheap Primark alternative, simply because the cut is more similar. I, unfortunately, don’t own glitter or sequin boots – yet! So, I opted for my grey Public Desire transparent heeled booties. Pairing this with a lilac jumper and mesh bodysuit to keep me warm in these icy temperatures. My finishing touch would be to add my studded Steve Madden crossbody bag, but I think the driving around for an hour in search for a phone box drove me crazy, and so I accidentally left the bag in the car. Doh! But, I think this is a great copy-cat outfit and I hope Megan doesn’t mind.
All my pieces are well out of stock – Sorry – So I’ve created a little widget* below with similar items all at highstreet, budget prices!
I’d like to thank Megan Ellaby for being a downright cool girl and although she doesn’t know it yet – for giving me the inspiration and ability to create this look/post. Make sure you check out her website here for more Megan Ellaby style.
