My probably most requested looks & Youtube videos are those of what I wear to work and how to style everyday items for the office. I think I have managed the art of taking jeans and turning it into office-appropriate outfit now and styling a little black dress for work to evening easily. But it does take time, time to find your style, what you feel comfortable in and what works in the office. So, here’s a few outfit ideas for you to wear during these clammy summer months, where you’ll most likely melt outside and freeze in the air con.
Midi skirts are perfect for summer office attire for a few reasons, they are a respectable length, your knickers won’t accidentally flash your colleagues when your sat in a chair opposite them and also offices usually have air conditioning which means as glorious as a skirt is for travelling to and from work, we often end up freezing in the office covering our legs with our jackets. A midi skirt will solve all these problems, also they are so on trend at the moment you’ll just look like you’re wearing the latest fashion to work! Opt for neutral colours or stripes for the office as this looks more professional. I’d pair any midi skirt with either a fitted shirt or a monochrome basic tee. If it’s a chillier day a fitted black or navy blazer will fit perfectly or just pair with a light cardigan if you prefer.
I’ve tied my double circle belt at the waistband of the skirt, just to give a softer cut off between the skirt and shirt, also it hides the possible horrid ruffling that goes on when you tuck a shirt in. (ignore the fact my belt has fallen a little in this photo, I need to cut more holes into it!)

As for the little black dress, it is timeless in SO many ways right?! I love to pair dresses with boots or converse and a simple black ankle boot is perfect to take it from office to town easily, just switch up your handbag, jewellery and you’re ready.
I’ve added a long line duster coat from Shein, adding a long line, coat, cardigan or jacket over your work dress will give an instant office-appropriate look. I particularly love this duster coat as it’s a boxy cut yet still holds shape with its formal collar and toned plaid print. This duster coat will pretty much suit any dress or outfit colour as it’s so neutral, I paired it with all black items letting the coat be the main focal piece.
Always opt for simple jewellery when styling for the office, it’s not only practical but it looks sophisticated as well.
I know, I know I’m a budget fashion blogger but if you already have it, why not throw in a designer handbag, scarf or purse. A designer accessory always makes you appear smarter. So pairing your budget fashion outfit with one designer piece will instantly take it from a 7 right up to an 11.

Below I have put together a few other simple outfits you can wear in the office during the warm Summer months. Just remember if you do wear a printed piece keep the rest of your outfit very minimal and basic to balance it out.
